MADE IN L.A PART 2

1. Who does Forever 21 blame for the sweatshops? Why?
A:Forever 21 blames the contractors because they did not know who the contractors were hiring. The reason why was because of low payment.

2. What’s wrong with Forever 21′s argument?
A: What's wrong with forever 21's argument is that they say that is the contractors fault and the contractors blame the manufactures but forever 21 hired the contracter but it all goes back to forever 21 you see each time they hired someone and that someone hires another person the hard working immigrants gets even lower payment. It started off with forever 21. And also now that they know all of this why won;t they change the way they pay the working immigrants.

3. Why do the workers continue to protest even if it means they might lose their jobs?
A: They were raised by there parent's by having hope and not giving up just for fighting for something that one day can come true.

MADE IN L.A

1.How is the life of sweatshop workers in L.A. the same as those in Indonesia? How is it different?
A:It was different because in L.A the people that worked in sweat shops had good homes unlike in Indonesia those people had to sleep on the floor share homes with other families they did not know too. Also in L.A they paid like $3.25 a day or a dollar every hour and in Indonesia they paid $1.25 a day the whole day or even cents, in Indonesia they lived very poor and sick, and also in L.A they work for making clothes and in Indonesia they for making sneakers and shoes. There the same because the companies treat them very bad and there are working so many hours for very little money.

2.Why is it that poor immigrants (newcomers) end up working at sweatshops? Why don’t they work as lawyers or doctors or at Mcdonalds?
A:The reason why they can;t work as lawyers or doctors or anything else is because they don't know English and they don't have experience on anything they don't have any choice but to work as garment work that are not paid very well you don't have to have experience for those kind of jobs there really strenuous. They need jobs to afford important things and those are the only ones they can afford.undocumented

3.Predict what’s going to happen by the end of this movie
A:What I think is going to happen at the end is i don't think they are going to win because they don't have a lawyer and they are not citizens they are not very important. Forever21 has many rights and has the money for this kind of situation there are going to be listened more.

SLAVERY

1.How much do Nike workers make in Indonesia each day? How many hours a day do they work?
A:Nike workers make $1.25 a day and work over 15hrs a day.

2.What is life like for Indonesian Nike workers at home?
A: It's really horrible there are many groups of families sleeping in just one little tiny cramped houses they sleep on the floor or cemented beds. They have to use the same toilet area the same water and everything. It's sad to see how many of those people having to work for very little money each day and use that very little money($1.25) to try and live a decent life for food for clothes for everything. Some can't even see there children from over working hours. This video really broke my heart when i watched it.
3.Why won’t Nike talk to Jim or Leslie or let them visit the shoe factory?
A: The reason why Nike workers won't talk to Jim or Leslie is because they are trying to hide the truth they know they are video taping this and they don't want to let the truth come out of how badly the companies is.

A: I think sneakers come from other countries or other states. The people who make them work in factories.

A: I think is where people sell different kinds of shoes like nikes, air max, or jordens.
